POLICE DEPARTMENT

Police Division is one of three under the Department of Public Safety, which is responsible for the preservation of the peace and enforcement of the laws and ordinances, providing assistance to those in need or distress; investigate alleged violations of law; apprehend criminals, prepare criminal cases for prosecution and maintain required records and reports of all known criminal activities; prevention of criminal defenses accomplished primarily through preventative patrol, public education and citizen involvement; assist the public by providing help in case of sickness or injury expediting the order of flow of traffic; locating lost persons and other instances that call for immediate action.
